MI5, who are they??

They have nothing on Hull FC and that's a fact.
Apparently Hull prop and local lad Paul King has been misbehaving again. I say again as Kingy, who is a nice bloke (albeit a bit of a lad) and incidentally having some great form of late, has been in bother before.
The big difference this time is there hasn't been a peep out of the club about this, except that King is going through the disciplinary procedures of the club, and he's been dropped for the weekend cup game.
So? You may say. Well usually keeping something quiet at Hull FC is akin to the editor of the News of the World keeping a secret, i.e: it doesn't happen. The grapevine is quite a thing to behold, usually I'll receive a text or an email about something, or hear something where I work, but this time there has been nothing.
Now I can put 2+2 together and come up with an answer of what may have happened but I think its best to wait and see.
The sad thing though is that Kingy may well have outstayed his welcome in the last chance saloon. (No pun intended)

The Feeling

My Favourite album of the moment is 'Twelve stops and home' by The Feeling. I find myself going back to it again and again. Here's a couple of tracks from the album, I highly recommend it!

Love it when you call

Bah!

Hull FC are like a wicked lover, you know the sort that whisper sweet nothings into your ear one minute, and ignore you completely the next. Your hopes soar then are dashed!
Ok, maybe a bit over floral on the descriptive side there, but that's what it feels like. Last weekend we beat Saints, this week we loose at home to Wigan. 20-30
They stuffed us like a kipper in the 2nd half, Their Aussie half back, Trent Barret did as he liked, mainly because the lads just stood and watched the beggar. You don't stand and admire a player like Trent Barret, you have to sort him out and rough him up or he'll sort you out, as he did to us tonight.
And I sat and watched it.
Bah!

ahhhh thats better!!! (the sequel)

The sleeping giant has awoke!
6 games into the season Hull FC have finally awoken from their slumber with a fantastic 24-12 win over Super League and World Club Champs (may as well lay it on thick!) St Helens.
The lads defended fantastically, and really went on the park to do business right across the board.
The Black and Whites are back.
Be afraid.........

Also I was pleased with the point Leeds Utd got away at Southend, ok a win would have been nice as most teams around us lost, but we haven't been beaten for 3 games now and that's an improvement. I have the feeling the team are really working hard together now, and that's all you can ask at the end of the day.

ahhhh thats better!!

So it was a good weekend for both of my teams. Leeds ending up 1-0 winners against Luton, and Hull FC getting the win 12-16 away at Huddersfield.
I did watch the Leeds game with an on-line stream, and there was a verve and a bit of go about them. To be honest we should have won the game 3-0 but hey, lets not quibble! Lets see if we can get back to back wins for the 1st time this season, though it will be difficult as we are away at Leicester on Tuesday night.

I didn't get to see Hull FC on Sunday. Sunday away games have been curtailed for me now as I work Sunday nights, so I had to listen on Radio Humberside, and it was hell! Now the commentators are smashing, but they don't really tell you what is going on. (for example which half of the pitch the play is!) Very often you get a lovely description of someone's haircut ended with an exclamation of 'It's a try!!!'
I wouldn't swap em though you know. There's an enthusiasm and love of the game (and the clubs) you don't see often.
Anyway, back to the game. I knew the lads would improve after seeing them trudge off last Sunday. They all knew how bad they where, and Gareth Carvell issued an apology on behalf of the team, for just walking off and not acknowledging the fans after the match.
I did see our tries on the TV, and I was quite pleased with them. We are starting to slowly fire up now. A case could be made that we didn't have enough pre-season games (only 2 as a matter of fact) but I understand why it was difficult. Key players who toured with Great Britain needed a break, and we had a couple of players having surgery etc.
Anyway, Saturday we entertain the Saints, the way they're playing Gawd help us!!!
Of course it could just give them that extra kick up the ar*e!
So, onwards and upwards lads!! :)

P.S
I'd just like to add my congratulations to the Robins for a top performance against the Rhinos. Excellent stuff.
I have to admit this great start is doing my head in though!!
*cheesy grin*

RIGHT!

Its 'roll your sleeves up' time!
Hull FC are away at the Huddersfield Giants tomorrow. They are bottom, we are 2nd from bottom! No messing about now lads, we need the win!
(Also good luck to Leeds Utd this afternoon, come on lads the time has come for you to stop messing about as well!)

Watching Saints stuff Warrington last night on the TV I wondered what it must be like to support a team like that, where you hardly ever loose and win everything? Would it become boring? Surely you cant enjoy the big wins as much, as they pile one on top of the other! :)
There is one plus to supporting a team that can spectacularly self combust at times, and that is when things do go well, the pleasure is immeasurable. So that's good innit?
So I'm waiting for a bit of that pleasure tomorrow afternoon!
Over to you then lads..........

Boots 'n'all online

Sky Sports have always been kind to us RL fans with great coverage of 2 Superleague games a week, and this season they will be showing a game from NL1 every Thursday night from next month.
They have also upped their online coverage, offering a version of their RL magazine Boots'n'all. Every try from all games played the previous weekend are shown with comment on each game. You can also download the podcast of the show, to either watch on your PC or if you're posh an i-pod :) (That's handy if your connection isn't fast enough for streaming video.)
The link to the page is here

Then just click on the Boots 'n' all link.

P.S. I would advise to shut your eyes when my lads are on!

Abysmal

My post will be short tonight.
The weather was abysmal,
Hull FC where abysmal,
hence I feel abysmal.
Leeds Utd lost yesterday so that cheered me up no end.
Its the law of averages,
that things will change.
