Phew!

Isn't this weather just too much?? Is it just me that literally wilts and hardly goes out of the house if I can at all help it? I have fans on all the time, getting to sleep on a night is a nightmare, I've just had enough!
I watch the weather forecast, and check weather sites online for the minutest drop in temperature, I cant stand it! There is supposed to be a drop in temp in N.E. England from tomorrow, I really really hope so!!
What does amaze me is that considering we have all sorts of weather in this country, why is it we're never prepared for any of it? Yesterday there was power cuts all over London because people were using air conditioning, when it snows everything comes to a standstill, and of course in Autumn the wrong sort of leaves on the rail tracks can stop the trains running.
Considering this country is obsessed with the weather and it takes up a portion of most conversations, why aren't we very good at coping with it?

Something to make you think............

While theres a lull in the rugby (for Hull FC anyway) I'm going to recommend a documentary you can watch on line. I've always been fascinated by all sorts of conspiracy theory's, and the Internet is the ideal place to search about all sorts of the stuff. Ok, some are quite potty I must admit, but there is one theory that has been gathering momentum lately at quite a pace. It is challenging the official U.S. Government line on the 9-11 terrorist attacks.
Having read a lot about it online, I personally think at the very least the U.S. Government new about it and let it happen.
Anyway, before you think 'the woman is mad!' and you have an hour or so to spare, have a look at this documentary called 'Loose Change' It was made by some young guys from the US and it made me think...........
Link to Loose Change 2nd edition
You will most probably need a broadband connection to view it.

All good things....

Well all good things must come to an end, and our winning run of 13 games came to an end at The Stoop against Harlequins yesterday. I dont think we got off the coach in the 1st half as we went in at the break 18-2 down. The lads woke up in the 2nd half and scored 14 unanswered points, sadly Kirk Dixon missed 2 goals (he's not our regular kicker, so you cant blame the lad) and so we left it a bit too late in the end.
We did have some key players missing, but in a way I'm, glad that the loss is out of the way and hopefully there wont be any more for the rest of the season!
I still haven't got my PC up and running yet, have just popped on Hubbys works laptop while he's out watching the Dark Side (Hull KR) The part needed should arrive tomorrow, so I should be back up and running tomorrow night all being well.
But where PC's are concerned nothing ever goes according to plan!

I was just reading Whiteroseboy's blog and he was talking about how hard it is to loose weight, and how right he is!
I have to loose weight too, bad knees you see. I visit a Dietitian at the local hospital every 2 months to get weighed and to be poked with a sharp stick to encourage me.
Anyway, my Dad said also as encouragement, that he would give me 50 English Pounds when I lost my first stone, but, I had to have official proof from the Dietitian. (Doesn't this man trust his own daughter!)
Anyway, last Thursday I trundled off to Hull Royal Infirmary and got weighed. 1lb short of loosing my 1st stone!!! I wont have another appointment for 2 months so Dad keeps my winnings in his wallet a bit longer. (Drat!)

Lucky Number 13...

Hull Fc hit 13 wins on the belt with a 36-24 defeat of Warrington. Still not fireing on all cylinders by any means, but still winning. I would like to see us picking things up a little as its getting to the business end of the season, and we need to be at our very best in the play offs.
One of the highlights of the game was Richard Horne equalling the club record of scoring in 11 consequative games set by the legendary Jack Harrison VC 91 yrs ago.
Both are pictured above. Just makes me think that how many things change but much remains the same. Thats why clubs like Hull Fc mean so much to people, its a constant in their lives.
Anyway, well done Richard, but I dont think he'll equal Mr Harrisons other record, which was 52 tries in one season!
Jack Harrison had a full but sadly short life, cut short serving in the Great War, and was awarded the V.C. Theres an interesting article about his life on Wikipedia

Well, we pinched that one and thats a fact! Hull Fc won their 12th game on the trot with a 20-24 win at Salford. Some very important decisions went our way for once, and we didnt seal the points untill the dying minutes.
The lads had to dig deep for that one, we haven't played well since the win at Saints, but were getting the results.
Sign of a good team so they say...........

Grrrrr

The CPU has gone kaput on my brand new PC (well it was at Xmas) so I might not be able to blog for a while, there is my daughters PC upstairs (I'm using that now) but I wont get on that very often lol.
Anyway, I'll be back ASAP and I'm sure the mighty Black & Whites will continue on their unbeaten run, away at Salford on Saturday. If anyone is interested it will be televised on Sky sports 12.30 pm.
See you soon,

Seeing a certain blogger admires Hull FC's special away shirt for playing in France, (we had to take off some sponsorship according to French regulations apparently) Here's a pic of our illustrious Captain, Richard Swain in said shirt.
and very nice he looks too! :)

Sad, happy, happy and sad.

Well, it was a gutter to watch England go down to penalties AGAIN! I was thinking about the law of averages, that we have to win a penalty shoot out sooner or later but no, we did it again. Cant say much else about it really, I'm too dissapointed to be honest.

So, onto the happy bit. Hull FC have won 11 games on the trot now, a 24-16 win at Les Catalan. Very very pleased. Were on the march!!
Come on you Hulllllaaaaaa!!! :)
