Very Disappointed!

After starting the game like a bat out of hell and going 2-16 up, we looked to be flying to a win. But no! Things aren't predictable with Hull FC! We never scored another damn point and ended up loosing 47-16. That's 45 unanswered points. That is not good enough.
I saw a game similar to that last season away at Warrington, playing like world beaters in the 1st half then quite spectacularly loose the game in the 2nd. It cost then coach John Kear his job. There were similarities tonight, I have to say.
I know they had a very hard game against Leeds last week, but there was no fight tonight, when things started to go against us, and that's not what I expect from a Hull FC team.
I'm very disappointed.

Back it up!

Tonight the lads are away at Wigan. I wont be going unfortunately as finances wont allow, but we are on TV tonight so that will make up for it.
We of course had a great win last Sunday against Leeds, but what we haven't done this season is back up a good win with another. It will be a hard game, Wigan beat us at home earlier in the season, and they had a loss last week at home to the Sith. So they wont want to give their fans 2 home defeats on the trot.
I though, hope they do!! (sorry you Wigan fans!)
So come on lads, lets go get em!
Come on you Hulllaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Daft about cats.

Now I have 3 cats, and I am daft with them. For instance it is now about 1am and I'm still up as all the little darlings are outside and they don't normally stay out all night. So I'm waiting for them to come in!
That's daft, but the pic above proves there are people dafter. It is a cat stroller. Yes that's right, a buggy for cats! Actually the cat inside the buggy in the picture looks like my cat Jess. I don't think Jess would be as well behaved inside one of those though.
Apparently this little beauty costs $139.99 which is over £70 in real money! :)
Just in case you think I'm making this up you can have a look at the web site here

Woo hoo!

Well the lads did it. A great, if narrow win against the Leeds Rhinos 16-12.
Hopefully this will be the kickstart to our season, and not a false dawn like the earlier win against Saints was.
I'm optimistic it will be, things are at last settling down off the park, and on it!
Thanks lads,
'Come on you Hullaaaaaaa!' :)

Old Faithful.

OK, our season so far hasn't been the best, but you could argue that a lot has happened to unsettle the team etc. But, we have a damn good team on paper, and we should start performing, hopefully with a win at home against the Leeds Rhinos tomorrow.
Remember 'Old Faithful' fellow FC fans, and get behind the lads!

Old Faithful, we roam the range together,
Old Faithful, in any kind of weather,
When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard's white with clover,
for you Old Faithful, pal of mine.

Giddy up old fella as the moon is yellow tonight,
Giddy up old fella as the moon is mellow and bright,
There's a cayote howling to the moon above,
Carry me back to the one I love,
And you Old Faithful pal of mine.

COME ON YOU HULLLLAAAAA!!!!!!

Too much peace and quiet.

Actually, I like peace and quiet, and don't mind my own company. I'm getting a lot of it lately though. The Hubby has been working away in France the last couple of weeks. My eldest daughter lives in Leeds, and my youngest hasn't been over for the last week or so as she is in the midst of exams at University.
I've always been used to the hubby working away, when the girls where little I was on my own a lot, but they kept me busy, and there's the nub of the matter. Now there is just me and the cats!
One thing that really comes into its own at times like this is the net, and text messages etc. I can keep in touch with everyone in a way I couldn't have as little as 5 years ago.
What a great thing technology is!
Right, I'm off to watch the rugby on TV! :)

Kindly disregard....

...... my last post. He's going to Warrington for quite a wad of cash.
Cant blame him really, but he would have enjoyed it at Hull FC. Better class of fan you see.
And he'll look a lot less dashing in navy blue with a bit of yellow, let me tell you!!
;o)

Oooo more rumours!

There are lot of rumours floating around about a certain Aussie half back (one Michael Monaghan) coming to the Black and Whites.

I couldn't possibly comment. :) But I can see him in a black n white shirt!
Of course, If I had a pound note for every rumour I had heard that didn't come off, well, I wouldn't starve and that's a fact!
I have to say though, he is rather dashing! :oD

Ok, I'm tagged.

Apparently, I've been tagged by Whiteroseboy to name my favourate 7 albums and 6 singles. I cant carry on the tag I'm afraid as I haven't got that many blog friends (well the ones that haven't been tagged already lol)
The main reason I pick a fave album is that I love every track. It's quite normal to like most of an album, or 3 or 4 tracks. But it's pretty rare to find albums where every track is fantastic.
Here they are in no particular order:
Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars - David Bowie
Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy - Elton John
Jollification - The Lightening Seeds
Songs for Swinging Lovers - Frank Sinatra
Twelve Stops and Home - The Feeling
Sheer Heart Attack - Queen
The Color and the Shape - Foo Fighters

My top 6 singles where a lot harder to choose, so I'm just going to put down the first six that came into my head:

Come Back Around - Feeder

Queen Bitch - David Bowie

Don't Stop Me Now - Queen

Someone Saved My Life Tonight - Elton John

God Only Knows - The Beach Boys

Golden Days - Mario Lanza (I'm not sure if it was released as a single, but it always reminds me of my Dad, who is a great Lanza fan)

Revenge of the Sith

The Sith won yesterday at Cardiff 10-14. They deserved the win on the day I will admit. We on the other hand are just not getting it together. We have no direction in attack. I would have put young Thackray in at scrum half with Richard Horne at stand off, but then what do I know. I'm just a 48 yr old housewife/barmaid who has only been watching RL for 28 years.
We have a bloody good side, a great back division, and good forwards. The one glaring omission is a organising half back. I understand it will be hard to get one in mid-season (the most galling thing about Cooke's defection I think) so I would give the young lads a chance, Thackray and Tommy Lee, (when he is fit) We have enough experience in the team to look after them both.
Then we can maybe have 'The Return of the Jedi!' :)

Has Batesy played a blinder?

As regular readers will know, I support 2 teams, one rugby and one football. One thing that both Hull FC and Leeds Utd have in common (apart from being supported by my good self) is that things are never quiet or plain sailing for long.
The last week or so I've wrote about Paul Cooke doing a runner to Rovers, that has quietened down a tad, but it'll kick up a notch tomorrow when we play the Sith (avec le Cooke) at Cardiff.
Today Leeds Utd caught up. We went into administration, then Chairman Ken Bates set up a new company and bought the club back off the administrators. Now I have the feeling he has played a blinder. We get our 10 point penalty this season, (which doesn't really matter as were going down anyway) Clear our debts, and have a fresh start next season.
Of course folk are up in arms, 'It shouldn't be allowed!!' they cry. But this goes on in business circles all the time, OK morally you could make a argument against it. But if you want my opinion, the dire straights we found ourselves in needed these sort of measures. As long as jobs are protected I have to say its all seems a bit of a master stroke.
Time will tell.

And on to tomorrow's Millenium Magic. All Super League clubs are playing over the weekend, at Cardiff's Millenium Stadium. All games are 'derby' games, well nearly, Le Catalan and Harlequins can hardly be called a derby, but all the other teams where paired off!
So we play the Sith tomorrow like I mentioned earlier. The Hubby and I are off to the pub to watch the game.
May the best team win.....
which of course will be the Mighty Hull FC!!!! Come on you Hullaaaaaaaaahhh!
