Hull FC are like a wicked lover, you know the sort that whisper sweet nothings into your ear one minute, and ignore you completely the next. Your hopes soar then are dashed!
Ok, maybe a bit over floral on the descriptive side there, but that's what it feels like. Last weekend we beat Saints, this week we loose at home to Wigan. 20-30
They stuffed us like a kipper in the 2nd half, Their Aussie half back, Trent Barret did as he liked, mainly because the lads just stood and watched the beggar. You don't stand and admire a player like Trent Barret, you have to sort him out and rough him up or he'll sort you out, as he did to us tonight.
And I sat and watched it.
Bah!

I must admit after last week I was a little surprised at this result.
All you can do is keep supporting and hope the players wake up.
I quote our coach Peter Sharp:
Particularly after last week, it's very disappointing. A pile of rubbish to tell you the truth.
"There's a few reasons, that I'm not going to say, there are always reasons.
"In terms of attitude we weren't good, we didn't have a lot of punch or direction with the football. That's indicative of us this year."
What are these reasons then??? Thats what I'd like to know.
i went last night, so that james and his mate could go cos his mates mum doesnt like him going to night matches on his own. and it cost me 21 quid to get in, bloody rip off, its only 15 at rovers and a botle of coke was £1.60. anyway what a bag of s**t, there was no co-hesion, no game plan, no half backs, no kicking game, need i go on? every kick off was the same, the only kick hull had in open play was a kick down field towards the sticks, which never tested the full back at all, all through the game hull had one decent kick and then it was just the straight kick down the middle which took a lucky bounce and bobbled about in the in goal area, i was disgusted to see fans leaving 20 minutes before the end, and these are the so called best fans in rugby league, if hull play like that against rovers i can honestly say we have nothing to worry about!!!! horne is not a half back (good try by the way) and i heard people slagging off tommy lee saying he wasnt any good and is too young, well im sorry it isnt his fault if he is put into the team at an early age, thats the coaching staffs fault. but all in all i was shocked by the lack of desire from dull fc.
I'm not going to defend our performance, I think you can guess my thoughts from my post. Our forwards didn't play as well on Friday, and no matter how good your half backs are, if the forwards don't give you a platform you're stuffed.
I for one never leave before the end, and if you stayed till the end you'll have seen the vast majority stayed.
On Tommy Lee and Richard Horne, I feel sorry for them both. Richard is not a Scrum Half, I would think he knows it, the fans know it, but he keeps getting stuck there. The lad is a stand off. If he had a decent scrum half to run off he would rip people to shreds.
Up till now we've made do mainly as Cookie hardly gets injured and until recently we had the creativity of Jason Smith and Chester(when he was fit)Tommy Lee has the talent but he's not the finished article. I hope this baptism of fire doesn't effect his confidence.
Just to finish you cant compare the FC and Rovers in any way. Rovers have no pressure on them, no expectations, we do. Pundits tipped them to win the whole shebang remember, that's pressure. I for one never expect anything, as in the 28 yrs I have supported Hull FC , if there's one thing they excel at its making a cock up of stuff!
Message ends :)
P.S.
£21 is expensive, you're right. But if you go into the South Stand, its £19, and the atmosphere is fab, especially going towards the south east corner. Of course yours truly occupies that area regularly :)
i had to go into the east stand because thats where james' pass is for, we were in the corner towards the south stand, which is where we like to sit when we go to see city. i wasnt critcising horne and lee, i was actually defending them, i said i dont think horne is a half back, more of a full back actually and i said lee wasnt ready yet but he cant be held responsible if the coaches put him in.
I didn't think you where criticising Horne & Lee. Of course Richard did play at Full back quite a few times in his earlier career, but I dont think that is an option now we have Shaun Briscoe (who is an absolute gem BTW)
Richard gets a hell of a lot of stick which I think is generally unfounded.
I usually have a player I stick up for, Cookie was one in the past, but I think I may take up the baton for Richard in the future :)
