Here we go again!

And there's me thinking this season couldn't get any worse. Silly me! Hull FC prop Gareth Carvell, signed a 3 year contract with us, after a lot of messing about. 24 hours later he's changed his mind and wants out!
Now I've met Gareth once and he's a lovely chap, but he's absolutely played us like a kipper here (if that's the right term!)
I wouldn't play the bugger for the rest of this season, even though we're so strapped for players!
This all whiffs a bit it must be said, and points to an illegal tap up by another club. (You can't talk to players until September)
Surely Gareth wouldn't throw away a 3 year contract and a testimonial season, that can earn a player upwards of a £100,000, without some sort of 'back up' hmmm?
In the meantime we have apparently missed out on a couple of signings whilst awaiting Mr Carvells decision, and other contract talks with existing players have been put on hold. Considering Superleague clubs operate under a salary cap for players, he really has put a spanner in the works.
One thing that is good about this is his considerable wages will be freed up and we should get a transfer fee for any move.
It's never dull supporting Hull!

You're not the only one that smells something marine related! It will be VERY interesting which club he ends up with. I've heard about Australian interest, but surely he wouldn't get the money he would do here? Just have to wait and see I guess. It will be interesting if he is played on Sunday at home to Le Cats. God knows what sort of reception he will get from the faithful!
