The lads got a win last Sunday against Castleford (You can watch the highlights here) Unfortunately we lost on Sunday against Bradford. To be expected as we had even more players out than usual. I think we've had it as far as a top 6 play off place in concerned, but the cup is still with in our grasp. If we can just start to get some injured players back for more than 5 minutes we could settle as a side, which we have been unable to do all season.
There is such a difference when scrum half Adam Dykes plays it is quite unbelievable, he really is a class act. But 'when' he plays is the operative word. I would like to see how his appearances have panned out over the season as he only seems to make 2 games tops and then he's out with an injury. Adam is coming to the end of his career and it worries me whether he is worth the next year of his contract. He plays in such a pivotal role this must be addressed. I know there is a shortage of good half backs about, and like I say Adam is a great player, but he is no good to us on the bench. Maybe a full close season to sort out all injuries will do us the world of good, as I believe that both our Aussie signings for this season (Dykes and Berrigan) have not been fully fit all season.
Ah well I guess thats Rugby League!

That was a big shock when Dave Toplis died. He was a real nice down to earth bloke & only 58.
He was in partnership with a Pipe/Fittings wholesaler and drove the delivery van. He used to deliver to the stores where I worked and often had a coffe with us if he came around lunch time.
well............the robins were consistent as always today against bradford, only thing that cheered me up was the last minute of the hull v warrington game hee hee
It was a shock to all of us when Toppo passed on so suddenly. For FC fans who started watching them in the late 70's early 80's he was a magician. When you see old clips of him and the FC team he played in, it shows how much we have gone down the Aussie road in style of play, and the craftsmen like Toppo are very rare thing now indeed.
Well Phil, lets hope my lads cheer you up some more this season, and win the Cup at Wembley. That'll be Rovers' fans entire song repertoire cut in half in one fell swoop wont it?? (Tee Hee)
nah, we will just sing "same old fc always cheating". would you really want to win the cup this year knowing it is tarnished with the thackeray episode, if it was me i would want to win it with no excuse for the other side of hull to find a reason to mock us.
Too right I'd still want to win it! I think we shouldn't get any prize money though. Maybe a large donation to the Benevolent fund would be in order, considering the RL cocked up as well?
