Leeds United # 2

Just 2 more pics from the Billy Bremner statue at Elland road. You will have to click on the pictures to read them, both I found very touching. (again both posted on the WACCOE forum.)

what is the latest with leeds, i thought it was sorted, i though master bates had bought it back in another underhand decietful deal, isnt it as simple as that (forgive me, a lot of this took place whilst i was away)

Well the sale eventually went through (Batesy re-buying it that is). Where the creditors excepted being paid so much in the pound, of course the Inland Revenue didn't, so sorting something out with them is outstanding.
One thing that is ongoing and stinks in my opinion is the Football League withholding what is called a 'Golden Share' this gives you permission to play in the league. So at the moment with 2 weeks till the season, Leeds cannot buy any players, and apparently the players haven't been paid for a few weeks as everything is in limbo.
If I didn't know any better it feels like an assassination is taking place. Tough word I know, but I think they want rid of us. It's very true Leeds Utd fans and the club are not well liked. If it was anyone else everyone in the game would rally round wouldn't they?

do you not think it is maybe the way they were run is the thing people dont like (league included)? IMHO mr ridsdale has got a lot to answer to, he took them so far in debt with no possible way to repay. i know a lot of clubs do it but he really did take the p*ss. i dont think many fans would like to see leeds go, as they wouldnt any team but possibly the reason they arent rallying round is the fact that batesy is seen as nowt more than a crook and who the hell, including leeds fans would honestly like to help him out?

I think you may have touched on part of the reason, but it never ceases to amaze me how other fans have disliked us through the years. You think most would have had enough considering the situation we find ourselves in now, but no, some would happily dance on our grave should the worst happen.
